4 STEPS TO MOVE FROM UNCERTAINTY TO CLARITY

With everything that is happening in our world today, it is not surprising that there is so much confusion and uncertainty about our life and our future. It seems like we are in a holding pattern, waiting for signs to let us know when we can move forward. However, beyond the big issues, which are overshadowing our ability to have clarity in our life, there are steps we can take NOW to move us out of the holding pattern, and bring clarity and focus back into our life.



The journey to gain clarity is an inner journey; a desire to become our best self, and create our best life. Finding clarity and direction in our life isn’t difficult. We first must accept that clarity is not a destination. It is a progress of our own personal growth. Transforming clarity is therefore more about the process than a destination. A fulfilling life will always be about the perpetual progression that leads us towards growth.The big struggle is that most of our lives are filled with distractions, and none more so that what we are experiencing today.  Until we can begin to discern what is most important and valuable to us, we won’t discover clarity and remove confusion.


One way for us to shift from uncertainty to clarity is to work through our Life Clarity Plan, which involves 4 steps:


1. Create a Compelling Vision

2. Act on Inspired thoughts

3. Let go of Limitations and

4. Develop an Impeccable Mindset


A COMPELLING VISION


Having a vision is important. It serves as the lighthouse, the North Star. Whilst a vision doesn’t eliminate distraction, it does inspire us to focus on what matters. It unearths our core values and highlights what drives us.  It can illuminate our way in periods of darkness and  inspire us to shed all the stuff that holds us back. Having a vision provides clarity for the future while directing us to place our attention in the present. A compelling vision creates a clear and vivid picture of where you want to go, why you want to go there, what “there” looks like and a pathway for how you are going to get there. Even though the future is unknown, having a vision creates a focus of direction with enthusiastic energy about the future. A vision is  ultimately an act of creation.


ACT ON INSPIRED THOUGHTS

Inspired action is simply any action you take based on a inner nudge or feeling. It is very different from forced action. Forced action is action that is taken for the sole purpose of trying to make something happen – generally speaking, it’s action you take just because you think you should be doing something. You can tell when you’re doing this type of action because it feels forced.  Inspired action, on the other hand, is action that you take when you feel inspired to do it. This type of action is almost always accompanied by a rush of energy, and feelings of excitement, enthusiasm and joy. When we take inspired action, we are in our zone and everything just flows. We can accomplish more in a relatively short amount of time than we ever realised was possible. Even though we work harder, it doesn’t feel like work! We are caught up with the inspiration flowing, that most often we simply lose track of time.


LET GO OF LIMITATIONS


Often times, when we embark on the realisation of our compelling vision, and begin taking those inspired actions, some of our limitations begin to surface, and more often, stop us in our tracks.


So, what are Limitations?


Essentially, they are old stories that we have outgrown. They are our unconscious blocks, patterns, excuses, reasons, habits or obstacles that stand in the way of us living our dreams. They are merely our old stories and ‘ways of being’. They may have served us in the past but the discomfort we feel is a call to show us that we have now outgrown them and are ready to replace them with something else, more aligned with who we are today. We can transcend our limitations by taking a holistic approach to them. Mental and emotional limitations may be limiting beliefs or thoughts that we are holding on to. Or they may be old, unconscious fears. Physical limitations are showing us where we are stuck and what we would like to shift in our life. Maybe it’s to lose weight.To change jobs. To feel more abundant. To attract new people into our life. Working with the inner world of our thoughts and feelings has the power to readily and rapidly shift our physical reality. You can sense the presence of limitations when you find yourself saying or thinking….


– I don’t have enough time…

– I don’t know how…

– Oh I could never do that…

– That’s not really my type of thing…

– Other people are (better/smarter/more interesting) than me…

– That idea scares me too much…


Usually underlying all limitations are the thought pattern of “I am not worthy”, or “I am not deserving enough,” or, “I am not good enough.” The key here is to question what limitations surface and challenge them.


Going beyond your limitations.


Realise that it is only our ‘perceived’ limitations that are keeping us stuck and stopping us from expressing our true potential. It is possible for us to go beyond these limitations. In the process of identifying them we transcend them. In the presence of awareness we can allow them to dissolve and heal for good so we can get on with living life on our terms. By shining light on our limitations we become aware of them. As our awareness grows, we can make the necessary internal shifts, to release the limitation and in time replace it with something new. Releasing limitation allows us to move forward and realise our compelling vision.  


IMPECCABLE MINDSET


Our mindset stems from our own set of powerful beliefs. Thankfully, beliefs can be changed when they no longer serve us or enable us to achieve our goals, as we have just spoken about above. Developing an impeccable mindset means developing a growth mindset.


As Dr. Carol S. Dwerk explains: ‘The view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life’.

A FINAL THOUGHT


Perhaps the most radical cure for uncertainty and confusion would be to stop thinking and start doing. Whatever it is your heart says to do in this moment, do that. The truth is; every second of our lives is a gift, we just have to be willing to receive it. I will say this much, the gift is not in our brains. If anything, the brain is the curator to confusion and the key to free ourselves is in our hearts. I encourage you to stop thinking and start doing.


Courage is the cure to uncertainty. Dare to be you, to love boldly and live freely. Let every façade, self image and barrier you’ve built up around your heart give up the ghost. Drop the illusion of uncertainty and share the clarity of who you really are, especially during these unprecedented times.
